Pakistan Militry Academy
The Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) was established at Kakul in October
1947, soon after the creation of Pakistan. On January 25, 1948, the
first Pakistan Battalion was established. His companies were named
after prominent figures in Muslim military history namely Khalid, Tariq,
Qasim and Salahuddin. Two months later in March 1948, the battalion
was awarded the patronage of the Quaid-e-Azam as Colonel-in-Chief and it
was claimed that "the Quaid-e-Azam's own while the Quaid's ill health
prevented him from going to the PMA," Khwaja Nazimuddin, then
Governor General inaugurated it on behalf of Quaid-e-Azam and presented
the banner of Quaid-e-Azam. Since then, at every passing-out parade,
it has been conducted with great honor by the champion company. The
regimental colors presented by Liaquat Ali Khan, the first Prime Minister
of Pakistan, in 1950 and the national standard by the then
Commander-in-Chief of the Pakistan Army, General Muhammad Musa in 1961,
are some of the honors showered on the academy, which it has always
jealously guarded and upheld his spirit.

Verbal Intelligence Test is of 84 MCQs and time to solve is 30
minutes.
Non-Verbal Intelligence Test is of 64 MCQs and time to solve is 30
minutes.
SELECTION TESTS
There are two stages of selection Selection. You have to contact
selection centers of respective forces for initial selection. The test
Centers AS&RCs are given below.
Initial Test PMA LONG COURSE
The candidates are required to appear personally at the Selection and
Recruitment Centres in various important cities. The information may be
procured from your respective recruiting office of your city Candidates
must report at the Selection and Recruiting Centres with the required
documents
INTELLIGENCE TEST
There are two tests in Intelligence test
ACADEMIC TEST
Candidates are given an Academic Test to solve in specific time. The test
includes questions based on Academic Subjects or General
Knowledge
Total 50 MCQs and time given is 30minuits
INTERVIEW
Candidates are briefly interviewed Questions about family background and
general knowledge are asked
MEDICAL TEST
Candidates go through a medial check-up, in which height chest weight and
eye sight may be checked.
RESULT
Result is announced immediately after the tests.
FORMS
Successful candidates are given forms to complete and submit at the
recruiting office. Candidates may be given few days or week to complete
the forms which include a character certificate given by school/college
Headmaster/Principal or by OC unit (for service personnel

A call letter is issued to successful candidates for Test/Interviews at
ISSB

Road Map to Join Armed Forces

REGISTRATION

SELECTION PROCESS
Eligible candidates go through the following
selection process:
Preliminary selection at respective. Selection Centers of Defence
Forces.
Those selected by the selection centers are
called for ISSB.
Those who qualify the ISSB tests & interviews are called Final
Medical Test.
Merit lists in respective headquarters are prepared according to the
seats available in the respective forces.
TRAINING
Candidates recommended by different headquarters are called for training
a certain period in training academies PAF, Army, Navy
i. PMA Academy Kakul, Abbottabad (For
Pakistan Army)
ii. Pakistan Naval Academy, Karachi.
ii. PAF Academy, Risal Pur (KPK).
GRANT OF COMMISSION
Those who successfully completed their training are given commission in
Pakistan Army and Cadet Pass Out as 2nd Lieutenant
PROMOTION
Promotion in defence forces is not automatic. The officers go through
certain training courses and have to pass the promotion exams, the
prestigious example of one is to enter in Staff College.
